Your wedding day isn’t just your bride’s day; it’s supposed to be your big day as well. You can expect your bride to look absolutely stunning in her gorgeous and fashionable wedding dress, which makes it equally important that you match your partner’s fashion savvy. In short, you will need to look your very best.

The most important rule you need to follow when picking out your groom’s suit is to find one that complements your bride’s attire. You also need to find a comfortable suit that allows you to move around with little hindrance. With all the photo-ops, dancing and mingling you’ll be doing, it would be in absolutely poor taste to pick a suit that makes you feel ill at ease and out of your element.

Grooms are traditionally restricted to either wearing the lounge suit or the morning suit. To help you pick the perfect wedding suit, we’re providing you with information on one of the most popular wedding suit styles available: the morning suit.

The Morning Suit

His Handsomeness
The name may seem funny at first, but you’ll look anything but laughable when you don the sophisticated and dashing morning suit.

A morning suit is a type of three-piece suit that includes a tailcoat, a waistcoat and pinstriped trousers. Usually, when you don a black tailcoat, you’re expected to wear a gray or another contrasting colored waistcoat.

Traditionally, you’re also supposed to pair your morning suit with a white wing collar shirt complete with a cravat, but if you’re feeling a bit uncomfortable with the highly-formal getup, you could wear a wonderful tie and a plain white shirt to wear with your distinguished and fashionable attire.

Accessorizing Your Suit

For a more formal look, you could wear accessories like the infamous top hat and short gloves. These would definitely complete your dignified overall appearance.

If you’re wearing a top hat on your wedding, remember that you’re only supposed to wear your hat for your photo-ops. You’re not obligated to eat with your hat on or to interact with guests wearing a splendid but slightly over the top top hat.

When to Wear It?

The morning suit is the perfect attire for ultra-formal weddings. For informal weddings or outdoor ceremonies, you might want to pick a lounge suit over the three-piece and highly traditional morning suit.

Are they the same suits that the conductors wear during their performace? The long backs and the coat-tails makes me think so. But then again I'm not really a fashion person so I could be wrong.
