Band Collar Shirt

Well, it’s time to correct that notion. You can still be modern and stylish even while wearing this traditional formal wear. In the last few decades, tuxedos have experienced a continuous evolution and style-revamping that has brought more choices to hip and fashion-conscious grooms around the world.
You’re no longer required to wear tailcoats, gloves and a top hat to your wedding, unless you want to. These days, more and more tuxedo jacket and shirt styles are introduced to the huge groomswear market.
The evolution of tuxedo styles and designs is represented by the popularity of the band collar tuxedo shirt.
The Band Collar Tuxedo Shirt

What makes this tuxedo shirt style so unique and charming is that it doesn’t require you to wear a tie with your tuxedo. All you need to do is to find a nice button cover to add to the neck button of your band collar shirt.
With this tuxedo shirt style, you won’t have to worry about finding the right tie that matches your tuxedo and complements your bride’s attire.

Band collar tuxedo shirts usually feature convertible cuffs or barrel cuffs. If the shirt design won’t allow you to use cuff links, use button covers instead.
When choosing your band collar tuxedo shirt, you have the option to either go for a plain and undecorated shirt or to go for a pleated garment. For a formal wedding, go for a pleated formal shirt for added elegance.
Choosing or Accessorizing Your Band Collar Tuxedo Shirt:

These shirts also come in a multitude of different colors. During wedding peak seasons, you can expect manufacturers and designers to release band collar tuxedo shirts in every imaginable color. The number of color choices you have only shows the popularity of this shirt style.
Pick your shirt color according to the theme of the wedding and its level of formality. For ultra-formal weddings, stick with plain white or a very light ivory to maintain a dignified and formal appearance.

I have to say, this is a very nice change of pace from the usual bows and ties most men wear on weddings. If anything, I'm pretty sure it will at least make a few heads turn or take a double-take. I know I would.
