Cuff Links: Finding the Perfect Pair

If you’ve already found your dream tuxedo, then you’re halfway through with your search for the perfect wedding attire. A tuxedo is not complete without the right accessories and your choice of accessories can make or break your entire appearance. If you want to add a dash of elegance to your garb, you simply can’t go wrong with the right pair of cuff links.
Cuff Links
Cuff Links are a type of decorative fastener used to fasten the cuffs of either a blouse or a formal shirt. These accessories are specifically designed to be worn with tuxedo shirts or dress shirts with French cuffs, which is a shirt with cuffs or buttonholes on both sides of each cuff and no buttons.
Cuff links are worn either barrel-style, meaning with one end of the cuff overlapping the other, or kissing, with the ends of the links pressed together. Most people prefer to go for kissing cuffs because of their stylish appearance.

These accessories come in many different designs. The simplest design available is comprised of a chain or a short post that is used to connect a couple of disc-shaped portions. One of the disc-shaped portions is bigger than the other, the bigger part usually positioned on the more visible side of the cuff.
Most formal cuff links are either monogrammed or jewel-encrusted.
Choosing Your Cuff Links
Tip 1: Consider your dress shirt color when shopping for your cuff links.
Since your wedding is going to be a formal affair, you’ll probably be wearing a white tuxedo shirt. If you want your cuff links to be highly visible, then choose dark cuff links for your dress shirt.
Tip 2: When shopping for your cuff links, don’t forget to bring your formal shirt with you.
The style and the color of your dress shirt will affect your decision of what cuff link style or design to go for. For reference purposes, bring your chosen shirt while shopping.
Tip 3: Keep your budget in mind when picking out your cuff links.

If you frequently wear tuxedos, then it’s okay for you to splurge a little when it comes to your cuff links. Expensive cuff links, if worn often, can be considered excellent investments. If, however, you have absolutely no desire to wear another tuxedo after your wedding, then consider going for simpler cuff link designs with budget-friendly price tags over their pricey counterparts.
Tip 4: Try on your cuff links before you make your purchase.
You need to know how your shirt will look with your chosen cuff links. If you’re having a hard time choosing between different cuff links, you can easily ask the salesman or the saleswoman for his or her opinion.
Tip 5: Lastly, if you’re looking for great cuff links with an equally pleasant price tag, consider shopping for your cuff links online.
The beauty of the Internet is that it brings you closer to fashionable and elegant cuff links with prices you can easily afford. Shop smartly by comparing prices and designs from various cuff link providers before making an online purchase.

Great work about cuff links! I agree that they make a suit that much more elegant and stylish. I myself have one, in what you call the kissing type. It goes well with all my suits.
