The Rules on Wearing Bridal Jewelry

What woman would turn down the chance to wear beautiful jewelry on her wedding day? While Marilyn Monroe may sing that "diamonds are a girl’s best friend," your choice of gems, precious metals and sparkling stones need not be limited to just sparkling diamonds.
Tips for Choosing Your Wedding Jewelry
To help you pick the perfect bridal jewelry to complete your outfit, the following are some tips and rules you need to follow when selecting jewelry pieces.
Tip 1: Keep in mind that your jewelry choice is supposed to enhance your beauty, not overpower it.

If you’re already wearing a rhinestone-studded gown, then you might want to tone down your sparkling jewelry a little bit. For elaborate gowns with fancy bead work or embroidery, keep your jewelry simple, understated, elegant and sweet.
If you’re wearing a simple gown, adding more sparkle to your attire can make you look absolutely stunning. Add some sparkle and a hint of glitter to your attire by going for a gorgeous diamond choker or breathtakingly beautiful chandelier earrings that are absolutely to die for.
Remember, the perfect jewelry selection will definitely liven up your overall appearance.
Tip 2: Make sure your choice of earrings complements your wedding hairstyle.
If you’re going au naturale with your hair down and flowing freely, go for miniature hoops or small stud earrings.
If your choice of hairstyle leans towards glorious wedding up-dos, then feel free to go for chandelier earrings, large hoops or wonderful dangling pieces.
Tip 3: If you plan to wear a veil, keep it simple.
The type of veil you wear will directly affect the type of jewelry or headpiece you need. For heavily embroidered or decorated veils, avoid huge and gaudy jewelry.
If you plan on wearing a simple veil, then an exquisite wedding tiara is the perfect headpiece for you.
Tip 4: Remember that metal-color is of utmost importance.

Don’t mix and match gold, silver and bronze; pick the metal color that matches the shade or the color of your wedding band.
Tip 5: Use jewelry to add a splash of color to your garb.
Are things looking drab, dull and washed out? Your jewelry pieces can help bring color to your life and to your apparel.
Avoid going for multi-colored jewelry pieces. Too much color will make you seem like the clown or the ultimate fashion victim at your own wedding.
When choosing your bridal jewelry, pick jewelry pieces that reflect your wedding’s color scheme.

View 1 CommentsI'm always for keeping things simple. I think large earrings and necklaces are just ugly. If your wedding gown is already beautiful, you don't need to wear pieces of jewelry that steal the show. Just choose an item that will be the focus of your style, whether it's the gown or the necklace, and then let that item outshine everything else.
